Work with individuals with developmental disabilities to help them lead richer lives. You would instruct and guide these individuals in developing basic learning and self-help skills, as well as communication, community, and prevocational skills. In addition, helping individuals reach their optimal level of functioning by assisting in goal setting, assisting in the development and evaluation of habilitation plans consistent with Service Plans, and monitoring and recording individual progress. May also instruct and observe direct care staff in employing appropriate strategies with individuals consistent with their habilitation plans.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
o Develop program and plan activities for assigned groups. o Review ongoing performance data. o Provide and/or assist staff in carrying out services and activities. o Provides guidance and training to direct care staff in the implementation of goals and service plans; and may supervise direct care staff in implementing those plans. o Other duties as assigned. o Specifics of assignment to be discussed during interview.

Salary Range:
From $49202 to $62806 Annually

Qualifications:
QIDP standards preferred. The Department of Developmental Services (DDS) adopted the federal definition for Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) in all ICF/DD, ICF/DD-H, ICF/DD-N and DD-CNC facilities when the Federal ICF/IID regulations became effective in October 1988. The federal criteria outdate the state regulations specified in the California Code of Regulations, Title 22. QIDP STANDARDS ARE:
o QIDP is a staff who is responsible for integrating, coordinating and monitoring each client's active treatment and who possesses:
o (a) At least one year of experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities or other developmental disabilities. o (b) Is either a physician and surgeon, or an osteopathy physician and surgeon, a registered nurse, or a human services professional possessing at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field, including but not limited to sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling or psychology. MINIMUM
Qualifications:
o Permanent service as a Habilitation Specialist 1, OR; o Eligible to 70.1 transfer to a Habilitation Specialist 1 title, OR; o Reachable on the current Civil Service List for Habilitation Specialist 1. o Provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for provisional appointment Candidates must have a bachelor's or higher-level degree in a human services field AND one year of direct care or clinical experience where your primary focus is providing services to people with developmental disabilities. Substitution:
A master's degree in a human services field may be substituted for the degree and experience described above. For the purpose of these examinations, a degree in a human services field includes the professional disciplines of audiology, community mental health, nursing, nutrition, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, rehabilitation counseling, social work, speech/language pathology, and therapeutic recreation (including concentrations in art, creative arts, dance, drama, music, or physical education.) Also included are related academic disciplines associated with the study of human behavior (e.g., gerontology, human services, sociology, speech communication); or human skills development (e.g., counseling, education, human development.) Examples of non-qualifying degrees include but are not limited to:
criminal justice, political science, liberal arts, and business.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
