Role Summary:
Unison Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of GE Aviation, is a world leader in the design and manufacture of electrical components, sensors and systems for aircraft, industrial, marine, military and space. Unison?s products span the globe and can be found on almost anything flying ? from two place trainer airplanes to giant 747?s and rockets traveling to space. We presently have an opening for a 2nd shift Inspector from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
Essential Responsibilities:
? Participate in and support team initiatives.
? Receive guidance from Level 3 and/or 4 employees.
? Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience.
? Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
? Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes and/or ideas, etc. Also, provide feedback to appropriate support functions.
? Requires specific knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines:
o Receiving Inspection/Electrical Inspection/Mechanical Inspection
? Use manual and/or automated measurement/testing equipment to assure the quality of products.
? Identify and document non-conforming parts, while utilizing Oracle to maintain inspection records.
? Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement.
? Uses statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
? Report problems to Group Leader and/or Coach
? Must possess abilities to perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third party requirements (i.e. ? audit, customer requirements, etc.).
? Assist support functions in root cause corrective analysis;
? Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
? Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures; Other duties as required.
High School Education and/or GED
Previous inspection experience preferred, preferably 1-3 years of experience.
o Requires use of basic hand tools and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
o Proficient in use of basic computer applications, such as Oracle and Microsoft applications.
o Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation.
o Understanding of basic mathematical principles, may have to do conversions to decimal system and use geometry. Also, possess basic knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances.
o Possess basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (i.e. ? AS9100 requirements).
o Proficiency in understanding special process operations such as brazing/soldering/welding/coating, etc. as required within department; Possess braze and weld inspection certifications as required.
o Must pass visual acuity exam.
Desired Characteristics:
? General knowledge of electrical components and test methods.
? Prior knowledge of electrical test method to include ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi pot, etc.
? General knowledge of assembly techniques.
? Past experience in a self-directed teaming environment
? Past experience in a manufacturing environment; Lean manufacturing knowledge

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
